Great dive community if you're looking to dive locally or go on trips with the shop!

This store is a fantastic facility which is a one-stop shop for equipment, training, and plenty of diving opportunities. It has been fun to work with them throughout my diving experience (starting with open water training and then working into shipwreck, rescue, even ice dive!), purchasing my own equipment, and diving of course. They offer anything from Caribbean week-long vacations to Great Lakes shipwreck weekends and simple local Thursday evening pond dives. The owners (Mike and Chuck) manage to maintain a highly professional and safe platform from which to train and obtain necessary skills while also being pretty freaking cool to hang out with. Also, Mike has the voice of an angel. I cannot recommend this shop enough.

My daughter and I were looking to get Open Water certified and were recommended to Motor City Scuba by a friend. We spent the last two weekends with the professional staff at Motor City Scuba and I was truly impressed. They were very knowledgeable, passionate about the sport, and really focused on showing us the safe and fun way to scuba. They took the time to answer all our questions and make sure we were comfortable and competent with a skill before moving on.What truly sets them apart, in my view, was the communication. We received detailed emails before each session giving us all the information we needed. We also received a call from our instructor prior to our class to introduce herself and make sure we were ready. You just don't see that level of service anymore.The gear in the store for rental and sale was top notch. Mike (one of the owners) even talked me out a a more expensive mask because it would have been difficult to use during my certification dives.I am very happy with my experience at this store and highly recommend them.

Great and patient instructors. Extremely well informed and safe instructors. Ive experienced terrible instructors in past training with other facilities and taking my advanced with motor city scuba made all the difference! Wonderful staff, great in-shop selection, and training available for any type of diving you can imagine! I couldn't recommend a better place to train. I'll definitely be coming back for all future training and purchases.

Thanks very much for all the work that you did getting the refresher course going that particular Saturday for me. I am so disappointed this didn’t work out. I know I would have had a great time working with your scuba diving shop. You have been nothing but great. I will recommend you to anybody I know, keep up the good work!

Decided it was time to add a comment to my review after multiple courses and trips with Motor city scuba I can only say that if this is not your dive shop, you should stop in and visit. You can't go wrong with this great group of people. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my experiences with them. They are very professional, but also know how to cut loose and have some fun after a long day of diving. The store is well stocked and the staff is very knowledgeable. If I could change one thing about my relationship with them is I would have started sooner.

Called for an Air Venturi carbon fiber tank for my air rifle and left a message and I was promptly called back and told they were in stock and would have it filled when I arrived. Once I got to them, sure enough had the brand new tank and it was full too. Perfect service and both employees were very polite and great to deal with. I'll be back as necessary.

The owner we worked with was highly knowledgeable. Plus, he has a great sense of humor. He helped us pick out everything we needed for an upcoming snorkeling trip. I didn't find the prices so great, but the store was extremely well stocked and the quality seems very high (you get what you pay for). We should have gear that lasts for a very, very long time.

In October, 2022, I failed at snorkeling in Key West, FL due to rough waters and inexperience. In preparation for my upcoming trip to Hawaii and my desire to snorkel, I decided to take a snorkeling class. I found Motor City Scuba & Snorkeling and I'm SO glad I did!! My instructor, Amanda, was wonderful and gave me great tips in a local pool for 2 hours. It was well worth the time and money and helped me greatly to achieve snorkeling in Hawaii. I am thrilled with my snorkeling adventure in Hawaii!! I highly recommend Mike, Amanda and the crew at Motor City if you wish to achieve your snorkeling goal like I did!! THANK YOU TO MOTOR CITY!!!!! This is a company who understands customer service and delivers it. Whether you're new to the sport or a seasoned diver, they have the ability to support all of your dive needs. I highly recommend Mike and his team!
